The film is an English remake of the French thriller Anthony Zimmer. An Interpol agent gone undercover to entrap a criminal who is also her former lover. She draws an innocent American tourist into the pursit.
German director Florian Henckel von Donnersmark is in talks to helm the film. He won an Oscar for his previous movie The Lives of Others.
Sam Worthington (Clash of The Titans) will replace Tom Cruise and Angelina Jolie (Salt) is in talks to replace Charlize Theron. If Jolie takes the role it looks like Wanted 2 could happen without her or will be delayed. While I'm indifferent with Jolie or Theron playing the female lead. Having Sam take over for Cruise seems a step up for the film. I think we'll have enough Cruise to look forward to in the next year or so with Knight & Day, Mission Impossible 4 and Monster of Florance.
