NEWS/RUMORS (Jan 22nd)

I'm not sure where this originated but Clive Owen (Sin City, Children of Men) is being rumored for the role of Kraven The Hunter for the Spider-Man reboot.

Jay Baruchel talked about his highly anticipated genre comedy Jay & Seth Vs. The Apocalypse written by Seth Rogen (also co-strring) and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, Green Hornet). Jay told io9 since the film is set in L.A. we should expect to see many celebrity corpses making cameos. He used Will Smith as an example, which would be very funny. Considering the success of Zombieland I'm sure this one will be fast tracked.

Ilsa Fischer (Wedding Crashers) and Tom Wilkinson (Batman Begins, RockNRolla) have been added to the cast of John Landis' horror comedy Burke & Hare.

JustJared known for their celebrity photos is reporting a rumor that Jason Segel (Sarah Marshall) and Bradley Cooper (Hangover) are both up for the male lead role in Bad Teacher. The new comedy that will star Cameron Diaz (Knight & Day, Green Hornet).

This project kind of come out of nowhere for me but apparently it was originally setup with Paul Walker starring and director Simon West (Tomb Rdier) attached. It looks like it got a major upgrade in the talent department. Clive Owen will now be in the lead with Patrick Alessandrin (District B13 Ultimatum) now directing. Protection focuses on a Special Forces soldier facing down Mexican gangs to rescue a judge’s daughter.

Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman the directors of Howl will helm Lovelace. The film is based on the career of iconic porn star and eventual anti-porn crusader Linda Lovelace. I'm hoping this is the next Boogie Nights.
