Chris Hemsworth Sailing To 'THE HEART OF THE SEA'

Deadline reports that Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth (Avengers, Thor, Cabin In The Woods) is attached to a high seas thriller titled In The Heart of The Sea. The film is based on the true-life events that would eventually inspire the fictional story Moby Dick. It's script was adapted from Nathaniel Philbrick's novel by Charles Leavitt (Blood Dimoand) and Ed Zwick (Last Samurai, The Siege) had been attached to direct. Ed has since moved on to make The Great Wall for Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. They mention if the director is still attached but I have assume not. I'm sure it will be interesting to see what the directors the high-profiled project will attract. Pair this with Hemsworth's racing bio-pic Rush and the young actor just might be aiming for an Oscar nomination.

The fact-based tale of Nantucket whaling ship the Essex, which was stalked and ultimately destroyed by a sperm whale in 1820. Stranded thousands of miles from home, the crew struggled to survive; they were lost at sea for 90 days. Eight were rescued.
